Veterinary Feed Directives (VFD)
VFD COMPLIANCE
LNC's Commitment to VFDs
Livestock Nutrition Center is fully committed to filling VFDs for our customers. We work to make the VFD process as straightforward as possible for producers, dealers, and veterinarians.
The revisions to VFDs added additional “medically important” antibiotics to the VFD drug list. These revisions reclassified certain over-the-counter (OTC) antibiotics to now require a VFD order from a veterinarian. This is particularly important as chlortetracycline (CTC) is included as a VFD drug.
Important Notice
LNC only carries Aureomycin and Chloromax products and will NOT adhere to VFDs requesting other CTC suppliers (PennChlor, Chloratet, etc.). We only use Zoetis products (Aureomycin 50, ChlorMax 50, AS 10-10).

Producer & Dealer Information
What producers and LNC dealers need to know about VFD compliance and medicated feeds.
Medicated feeds are only allowed for disease treatment, control, and prevention.
A veterinarian can issue a VFD without seeing the animals if they have an established relationship with the operation.
All VFD records must be kept for a minimum of two years.
Key VFD components to be aware of include expiration date and duration of use.
LNC will receive and process VFD orders for Chlortetracycline at all processing locations.
Aureomycin is used in blended feed and FortiGraze minerals. Chloromax 50 is available for customers that blend on-farm.
